Ontario Land Transfer Tax Rates

Ontario uses a tiered bracket system:

• Up to $55,000: 0.5%
• $55,001 – $250,000: 1.0%
• $250,001 – $400,000: 1.5%
• $400,001 – $2,000,000: 2.0%
• Over $2,000,000: 2.5%

First-time buyers can receive a rebate of up to $4,000 on the provincial portion. Toronto properties face an additional municipal land transfer tax at the same rates.
